MistaJam says: “From Hardcore to Rave to Jungle to eventually Drum & Bass, DnB as an art form has continued to evolve over the last 20 years and has found its biggest commercial audience in recent times thanks to acts like Pendulum, Sub Focus, Chase and Status and Blame, who haven’t had to change their sound in order to cross over.

“The scene is vibrant at the moment, the quality of music is really strong and it’s the perfect time for Radio 1 and 1Xtra to combine and celebrate it for an entire evening. It’s an honour to kick off proceedings alongside fellow DnB fan Zane!”

Playlists now available on Dubtune.com

March 13th, 2010

Today saw the launch of our new playlist system. This means you can now create and share your own playlists, perfect for those who want a constant stream of awesome tunes playling in the background or some fat dubstep for a party!

Although in its current form the playlist system is very basic, we plan to roll out some extra functionality once the initial testing has been completed. We have already found some issues with the Internet Explorer browser so we’re working on that right now. It’s very important to us that the site becomes as usable as possible, and this is one of our main aims for the next few weeks.

You can try out the new playlist system by checkout out our Filthcast Episode 1 playlist.

      Dubstep Artists Promotion on Dubtune

      January 23rd, 2010

As you will read in our recent tweets and blog posts Dubtune has been undergoing some major infastructure changes to accommodate for the significant growth seen in recent months. One of these changes involves how we serve up the audio that is hosted on the site. We now have the ability to deliver high quality audio to a huge audience. As a result of this we are now able to communicate directly with producers and artists to promote their work.

If you are a producer or artist who creates Dubstep or Drum and Bass then please see our contact details page for more information about how we can help build your profile with some free promotion on Dubtune.com.

      It’s all changing… We’ve been busy

      January 18th, 2010

Some may have noticed that TOTD (Tune Of The Day) didn’t happen today. This is because we have officially discontinued this feature. The reason for the discontinuation is because we feel that it was not really serving much of a purpose and was only annoying twitter users who follow us. From now on only quality posts will be written to the blog, mainly in the form of information about site updates and changes.

On that note, we’ve made some absolutely huge changes to the site over the weekend. On Friday we began the huge task of migrating the site to a new backend. That was completed yesterday with only 30 minutes of downtime during the change over. The update means we can expand our data sources and continue to deliver quality content and music to you but on a more scalable platform.

As a result of the recent changes we made the Homepage and the Play page were re-designed. Check it out:
